(& Cedar Grove Westside)
Cedar Grove is a short, fun singletrack that goes through one of the most beautiful areas on Moscow Mountain.
To get to the trailhead, travel east along the Moscow Mtn Rd toward the Nature Conservancy's gate (look for a green gate to the north of Moscow Mtn Rd set off a ways down an old grown-in road). After you pass the green gate, go 1/4 mile farther east and look for a private driveway on the right (south) that climbs steeply (there is a X-C skiers sign up high on a tree on the left). Cedar Grove begins on the north side of Moscow Mtn Rd across from this driveway. Sometimes there is a Nature Conservancy sign at the trailhead, but it is often vandalized.
To find Cedar Grove from the Tamarack end, bike up Tamarack Rd (ignore the giant new logging road that cuts diagonally across Tamarack grade about 2 miles up). At the top, 2.7 miles from the old ski area, go straight on Moscow Mtn Rd (the fork to the left goes to East Moscow Mtn Lookout and Wonderpup). Descend gently for about 1/2 mile, whereupon the road flattens. Go about 250 yards. The trailhead is on the right (north) directly across from a driveway which leads to a private residence and climbs very steeply.
Bring along a snack and camera to see some absolutely breathtaking trees! Some are said to be over 800 years old.
